Old star

Dying at the edge of time,
Old dark star, I wonder who you are
Who you were may lay better
Or just two different answers
Like motorcycle zen and the journey he took
Gliding or not moving
Perspective takes its toll
Plays a role, an actor out in space

Water snake

There he is
Taking all
Of our things
Like a water snake

There it is, biding all, of our time, because we don't know how

Circling under the cover of a parasol

Floating but never is resting, poised to take it all

(Tonality, long tones, shift quickly with "snare," but stay connected)

DreamBjork

Wide open desert, the sun setting on your covered head
we go behind the speaker with her, and inside we three are led

take my hand, I will take you through your life again (the power of this place)
don't be scared, take it off his face
and he can share with us a life's trace

With his eyes now uncovered
Open for a tad
The room was quickly filled with fragments from his life
She explained to her daughters
How to see the difference between his version and the room they knew
So they could judge his fate
"The distance reveals this space, and many others
From his life and from our own"
"Each surface layered with unspoken stories"

The truth of these speakers
Is the relationship between
I hear, you see, he thinks
We all feel in lines
One point, another, and every in between
A web of fibers colored like our lives
..-.-.-------.-------...-
They did not see any difference
And they did not understand
All his stories felt like reality
And they covered his head

(Percussion loop, speeding up and slowing down, many little notes in between, arriving at the slow 2&4 steady macro pulse, but very irregular micro texture)

Somewhere Down The Line

The air is softer on my morning drive
round the corner, leftly at the light
a career day-job more or less alive
before we get there, all we have is time

Spots of resting all day and night
Try to sleep now, quieter on the flight
Jacket, black sweater, pillow, socks,  sweats
Three half hours - clutching to what he gets

Unlock the bike and straddle the seat
Darkened storefronts, find something to eat.
Familiar path or something new?
How do you choose when all there is is you
Do you choose when all there is is you

6...5.6...5.6...5.1...5.6...5.3...1.2...5.4.....

// this one is strings for sure. Building loops maybe. Another layer each time? 2 different sections, singing and playing each time. An etude in singing and playing in tune haha

I Take a Long Time

and may-be we'll find an answer to this day
I take a long time to find my way
I tread so cautiously, it's as if to say
are you okay?

I take a long time to recognize your face
it takes a summertime eye
I can see it now resting on your hand
impatience bursting through a glance
In your way I get lost
in all the flower gates in your pearly hate
Honest, this is me try to relate

[Make some mind of break down]

again like that one time we got into that fight
my silence amplified light
and blinded like an earless bat clicking into space
still seeing perfectly
We can try but i fear
the time is truly past It's not like you can't see
I can on-ly hear not meant to be

In A Way (draft)

Not hiding between the rocks, not floating in the sea
it seems so obvious, for everyone else but me
I walk along the shore, and into the rough again
can't find them anymore, the women and the men
I used to know what happened whenever a ship set sail
but now it's just water slapping; my eyes are starting to fail
I know that, in a way, I never have been quite so real
as how I'm finding myself now: alone, but finally healed

I have a few new ideas, about the world I know
A resting hobby, this one, no ethos or creed
Some tenuous conclusions About where and how to go
As I'm learning now, that's not at all what you need
not even a you to tell it to, all of my new ideas
If I learn to listen better, I'll learn to share it right
Once wise, I'm getting stronger
No need to starve myself or even fight

// repeat first verse?
// piano and/or accordion?
